Since I’m so disappointed with how the House of the Undying went I feel obligated to repost this and hope it was all just a bad dream. I don’t understand why they changed so much — it was all so vital!
House of the Undying - a playlist by littlefindsforgot
A Song of Ice and Fire has greatly inspired me. Often, when I read, I find that music helps set the scene. In honor of HBO’s Game of Thrones season 2 finale I’ve compiled an ambient playlist for the House of the Undying which follows Daenerys’ journey through the warlocks’ lair.

Invitation to the House of the Undying Ones
“I am afraid…but I must be brave”. Under the guide of the red comet Daenerys’ came to Qarth in hopes to find her army. Instead her words prove as futile as wind - what else remains? Much to the dismay of ser Jorah and Xaro Xhoan she accepts Pyat Pree’s offer to counsel with the Undying Ones
Last Agni Kai - Jeremy Zuckerman
Gazing Upon Ruins
The House of the Undying is described as a grey and ancient ruin. It is long and low, without towers or windows and is coiled like a stone serpent through a grove of black-barked trees with inky blue leaves which are used to make the drink that the Qartheen call “shade of the evening”. No other buildings stand near. Black tiles cover the palace roof, many of them fallen or broken. The mortar between the stones is dry and crumbling.
Approaching Target 1 - Jesper Kyd
The Door to Your Right
Pyat Pree advises Daenerys to take the door to the right. No matter what she sees and how drawn she feels to do otherwise she must always take the door to the left, lest she be trapped forever.
Leonardo’s Inventions Pt. 1 - Jesper Kyd
Someone Else’s Memories
During her journey through the House of the Undying Daenerys begins to understand Pyat Pree’s advice. She sees wonderful and terrifying things, among them her brothers alive and a crowned wolf and a home she’d once known.
Dai Li Headquarters - Jeremy Zuckerman
The Grand Undying
Upon entering a most spectacular chamber Daenerys stares upon the faces of resplendent wizards - some are draped in robes of ermine, ruby, velvet and cloth of gold while others are dressed in elaborate armor studded with gemstones, or tall pointed hats dotted with stars. They smile upon her in welcome and glory.
The Serenians - Jack Wall
Another Door
The splendor before her almost drives Daenerys’ to distraction. But doubt seizes her and there beyond the many thrones she spies another door. Voices call to her from behind, sweeter than any music, beckoning her to stay but she runs from them. The door is heavy and ornate it takes most of her strength to move. But behind it is a small plain and splintered door. It leads to a chamber filled with dust and darkness.
Keyhole - Russel Shaw
Shadows and Prophecies
A human heart floats above a long stone table, blue and corrupted but beating. And at the table shadowy blue figures sit. For every glory of the room just before this chamber matches in gloom.
A Heartbeat Away - Jack Wall
Escape
Visions upon visions have her growing weaker and weaker. Mother they cry. For her life and for her fire. Black wings buffet around her and Daenerys’ eyes are opened. The Undying clutch at her, stroke her and steal the strength from her very limbs. And then Indigo turns to orange as Drogon lights her attackers. She turns to flee down a twisting passage way and leaves with the sound of shrieks and death until she bulls through a door like an open mouth. The Palace of Dust is burning and Pyat Pree curses her drawing a knife from a hidden place. Crack. She ahd never known the sound Jhogo’s whip to be so sweet.
Ezio Confronts Lucrezia - Jesper Kyd
A Clash of Kings Ch. 48

Over the Misty Mountains Cold by J.R.R Tolkien / Musical Score composed by Howard Shore
“Far over the Misty Mountains cold, To dungeons deep and caverns old… The pines were roaring on the heights, The wind were moaning in the night, The fire was red, it flaming spread, The trees like torches blazed with light.”
