My nephew really loves dinosaurs. He’s about four, so it’s sort of expected. I study archaeology and he asked me, as I was about to leave for my summer dig, if I was going to dig up any dinosaurs. I decided not to tell him that I don’t exactly deal with dinos and told him ‘maybe!’. Then one day he told me he wanted to dig dinosaurs too. So I made a mini-excavation unit, dug a shallow trench and buried a few chicken bones. Today he dug them up using the same tools I bring with me on digs. He told me they came from a triceratops and proudly showed his finds off to his parents.
